ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a senior Portfolio Manager and Underwriter opportunity within the Healthcare Finance specialty lending group of a well-established commercial bank, offering end-to-end ownership across underwriting, credit monitoring, and portfolio management for C&I, CRE, and ABL transactions in the healthcare sector. The role sits at the intersection of credit and client management partnering directly with Relationship Managers, presenting to loan approval committees, and developing problem loan solutions making it an ideal fit for a seasoned healthcare lending professional who combines strong underwriting fundamentals with the ability to manage complex client relationships and mentor junior team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Underwrite, manage, and structure commercial lines of credit, real estate, and cash flow leverage transactions in accordance with established credit guidelines and policies
  • Demonstrate in-depth working knowledge of ABL revolvers including evaluation of borrowing bases, field exams, and collateral monitoring
  • Analyze financial data and create detailed loan memorandums to support new loan originations and modifications;manage the renewal process including increases, amendments, and waivers
  • Perform ongoing monitoring of credit and covenant compliance across the healthcare portfolio;accurately risk-rate loans and evaluate both cash flow and collateral-based credits
  • Develop problem loan credit solutions and manage the risk quality of the overall portfolio
  • Partner with Relationship Managers as the primary credit point of contact for clients;serve as liaison to the credit department, commercial support staff, and other internal business partners
  • Assist with due diligence and analysis on new client relationships and opportunity memos as appropriate
  • Make presentations on specific loans and participate in the bank's loan approval process, recommending approval and appropriate credit structure
  • Ensure portfolio administration and risk management for each client relationship aligns with established credit policy, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
  • Identify cross-selling and referral opportunities for other bank products and services
  • Mentor and develop junior bankers, credit analysts, and relationship associates as appropriate
