Vice President of Technology (Future CTO)


Remote (U.S.) – Relocation Provided to San Francisco, CA (Must be local or open to relocating) | Full-Time


We are partnering with a high-growth, venture-backed technology company seeking a Vice President of Technology to lead engineering and product strategy while scaling toward a future CTO role. This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage organization and play a key role in building and shaping its technology function from the ground up.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead Engineering and Product teams across a distributed, global environment
  • Drive the development and launch of a core SaaS platform
  • Oversee architecture, infrastructure, AI/ML initiatives, and external technical resources
  • Partner closely with data teams to support forecasting, automation, and platform intelligence
  • Translate business goals into scalable technical and product roadmaps
  • Build, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering, product, and data teams
  • Serve as the senior technical leader, collaborating with executive leadership, investors, and stakeholders
  • Support strategic initiatives, including company growth and future fundraising efforts


Qualifications:


  • Experience within B2B SaaS or workforce technology environments (e.g., HR tech, payroll, scheduling, POS, or related sectors)
  • Proven success scaling SaaS platforms in high-growth or startup environments
  • Strong leadership across engineering functions, including backend, frontend, infrastructure, and data
  • Hands-on experience leading or overseeing AI/ML or data-driven initiatives
  • Builder mentality with experience creating teams, systems, and processes from scratch
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage leadership, board members, and investors
  • Experience operating in early-stage or scaling organizations
  • Open to Senior Directors ready to step into a VP role or current VPs seeking a growth opportunity


Compensation & Benefits:


  • Base salary: $200,000 – $250,000
  • Equity opportunity aligned with future CTO path
