VP, Fund Accounting – Alternatives

A highly successful Boston-based alternative investment management firm is seeking an experienced VP, Fund Accounting – Alternatives to join its multi-strategy accounting team. The firm manages approximately $10+ billion in assets across a diverse investment platform spanning private and public markets.

This is an opportunity to join a sophisticated investment platform and take ownership of the fund accounting and operational oversight for a diverse group of alternative investment products. The role will work closely with investment professionals, client relations, compliance, operations, and senior leadership while overseeing third-party administrators and other key service providers.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee fund accounting and operations across a diverse portfolio of alternative investment products

• Manage third-party administrators, auditors, banks, and other service providers

• Review NAVs, financial statements, investor reporting, and annual audits

• Coordinate fund valuations and support the valuation committee process

• Partner with investment, client relations, compliance, and operations teams

• Support regulatory filings, fund budgeting, treasury, and investor activity

• Assist with new fund and product launches

• Drive process improvements across fund accounting and operations

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of fund accounting, finance, or operations experience within alternative investments

• Experience with private markets and open-ended fund structures preferred

• Background with an asset manager, fund administrator, public accounting firm, or combination

• Strong knowledge of partnership accounting, NAVs, financial reporting, audits, and valuations

• Experience overseeing third-party administrators and service providers

• Strong Excel, communication, and organizational skills

• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA or equivalent preferred

Compensation: $150K–$170K base + 20% bonus
