Base Salary: Up to $200k + Bonus

ABOUT THE ROLE

This Vice President opportunity sits within the independent Enterprise Risk function of a well-established global financial institution, offering second-line credit oversight across leveraged finance, acquisition finance, and complex corporate lending transactions. The role carries meaningful independent review responsibility assessing credit applications submitted by the front office, challenging assumptions, validating risk ratings and Basel parameters, and engaging directly with senior credit committees on complex, time-sensitive transactions. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct independent, second-line credit risk assessments of leveraged finance, acquisition finance, and complex corporate lending transactions;review credit applications prepared by the front office for completeness, consistency with internal policies, and appropriateness of risk
  • Provide independent credit risk opinions and recommendations to senior Credit Officers and risk committees;present and defend credit views on complex transactions in a clear, well-structured manner
  • Engage directly with trading desks, relationship managers, and front office teams to challenge assumptions, identify key risks and mitigants, and ensure sound credit structures prior to formal credit submission
  • Validate and recommend appropriate internal risk ratings, Basel parameters (LGD), and regulatory loan classifications across the leveraged finance and acquisition finance portfolio
  • Monitor portfolio credit quality on an ongoing basis including covenant compliance tracking, early warning signal identification, and proactive escalation of deteriorating credits to senior risk management
  • Coordinate with Head Office and global risk teams on names under delegated authority;respond to requests from Loan Review, internal and external auditors, and regulatory bodies in a timely and well-documented manner
  • Contribute to portfolio reviews, risk framework development, and ad hoc risk analysis projects as directed by senior risk leadership
  • Act as a risk manager with full accountability for identifying, escalating, and managing credit risks in strict accordance with all internal policies, procedures, and risk controls
