VP Credit Risk & Portfolio Strategy

About the Opportunity

A growing consumer lending company is seeking a VP, Credit Risk & Portfolio Strategy to lead portfolio management initiatives across a large consumer lending portfolio. This is a highly visible leadership role focused on driving portfolio performance, profitability, customer engagement, and risk management through data-driven strategy and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize portfolio management strategies for existing customers
• Lead initiatives related to credit line management, retention, delinquency prevention, account growth, and portfolio profitability
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve risk-adjusted returns
• Partner with senior leadership to evaluate business performance and drive strategic decisions
• Lead and mentor a team of analysts while remaining hands-on with strategy development and analytics
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations, finance, and risk teams

Ideal Background

• 7+ years of experience in U.S. consumer lending
• Credit card experience strongly preferred
• Experience in portfolio management, credit risk, and/or acquisition strategy
• Prior people management experience
• Strong understanding of portfolio profitability and P&L drivers
• Proficiency with SAS, SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools
• Track record of developing and implementing data-driven credit strategies
