ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Vice President-level Credit Officer opportunity within the Risk Management function of a leading global investment bank, sitting within the Financial Institutions Group with a focus on Private Equity sponsors, fund-level exposures, and related FIG counterparties. This is an add-to-staff hire reflecting the firm's continued growth in this coverage area. The role carries genuine credit authority providing independent approval or recommendation on complex FIG and private equity-linked transactions while contributing to credit policy, risk appetite frameworks, and ongoing portfolio oversight. It's an ideal fit for a seasoned FIG or private equity credit professional who combines deep sector knowledge with strong analytical judgment and a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to risk management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide detailed obligor analysis including historical performance review, key risk factor identification, and approval or recommendation documentation for final credit decisions
  • Validate Obligor Risk Ratings, Basel 4 parameters (LGDs), and other key financial metrics across the FIG and private equity portfolio
  • Perform ongoing monitoring of portfolio credit quality including quarterly portfolio reviews, early detection of deteriorating credits, and active participation in watch list review processes
  • Track credit and market trends across bank, bond, and private credit markets relevant to the FIG and private equity sectors
  • Assist the Portfolio Management and Governance team in preparing reporting for senior risk management and regulators
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the bank's credit policy guidelines and overall risk appetite framework
  • Participate in setting global risk appetite for FIG and private equity financing initiatives and assess new business initiatives including white papers, New Product Committees, and business rule development
