ABOUT THE ROLE

This Vice President-level Credit Officer opportunity sits within the Risk Management function of a leading global financial institution, covering a diverse Financial Institutions portfolio across North America and Latin America spanning Commercial Banks, Broker-Dealers, Insurance Companies, CCPs, Mortgage Originators, and Mortgage REITs. The role carries genuine credit authority with daily trade approvals, independent rating and limit assignments, and direct presentation of credit recommendations to senior risk management and transaction committees. It's an ideal fit for a seasoned FIG credit risk professional with strong traded products knowledge, insurance sector experience, and a track record of leading counterparty due diligence and negotiating complex legal documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct comprehensive quantitative and qualitative credit risk analysis across a broad Financial Institutions portfolio including Commercial Banks, Broker-Dealers, Insurance Companies, CCPs, Mortgage Originators, and Mortgage REITs across North America and LatAm
  • Assign internal credit ratings and limits;monitor exposure usage for limit breaches and recommend corrective actions in a timely manner
  • Approve daily trade requests across a wide range of products including Derivatives (FX, Rates, Equities, Credit), Repo, Stock Lending, and MBS
  • Analyze complex and structured transactions;present credit risk recommendations to senior Risk Management and Transaction Committees
  • Structure trading terms in conjunction with Global Markets, Legal, Finance, and Middle Office;negotiate credit terms for legal documentation including ISDA/CSA, MRA, MSLA, and MSFTA
  • Lead counterparty due diligence via calls and in-person client visits;conduct periodic portfolio reviews across Financial Institutions sectors
  • Track regulatory, industry, counterparty, and external rating developments and take appropriate risk management actions
  • Lead and contribute to global risk change initiatives including cross-functional coordination across Risk and Business colleagues for internal and regulatory-driven enhancements
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to team-level initiatives and knowledge sharing
