ABOUT THE ROLE
This Vice President-level Relationship Manager opportunity sits within the Corporate Banking division of a well-established global financial institution, offering strategic ownership of client relationships across a diversified corporate lending portfolio spanning syndicated loans, M&A finance, and project loans. The role combines senior-level business development and client management with credit analysis, portfolio oversight, and compliance responsibilities. The team is seeking a seasoned corporate banker with who thrives in a relationship-driven environment and is equally comfortable originating new business, structuring transactions, and managing a complex loan portfolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain regular contact with corporate clients and identify opportunities to deliver added value to existing relationships;conduct market research to identify new business targets and expand the network of customers and business partners
Actively participate in business development and community activities to promote the institution's visibility;evaluate the effectiveness of new business opportunities and marketing plans including travel for onsite client visits
Structure and negotiate term sheets and commitment letters within parameters defined by credit decisions;assess customer relationships and determine appropriate actions as needed
Conduct comprehensive due diligence on prospective transactions including detailed credit analyses, financial and industry analyses, and risk assessments;evaluate the creditworthiness of customers and verify appropriate pricing, loan terms, and profitability requirements
Oversee the existing portfolio of syndicated loans, M&A finance, and project loans;conduct scheduled credit reviews for overall asset quality including performance against original underwriting expectations
Ensure timely processing and closing of loans;review and approve account setup, internal reports, drawdown management, and post-lending monitoring as needed
Monitor maturing loans and credit lines and coordinate appropriate renewals;review executed documentation for accuracy and completeness
Ensure full compliance with applicable federal laws and regulations including AML, BSA, KYC, and other regulatory requirements;report unusual activities as appropriate and assist with audits as needed
Provide instructional leadership, coaching, and quality control oversight to team members;review and recommend updates to departmental policies and procedures
