Base Salary: $104k $190k + Bonus

ABOUT THE ROLE

This Vice President opportunity sits within a centralized first-line governance and control function at a leading global financial institution, serving as a key member of a growing Business Risk & Control team that is actively building out a formal QA function, implementing AI-enabled reporting and governance processes, and enhancing the bank-wide control inventory framework. The role provides broad, cross-functional risk and control coverage across corporate functions including HR, Legal, Audit, Risk, and Compliance making it an ideal fit for a generalist controls professional who thrives in a centralized governance environment rather than a narrowly product-aligned coverage role. Candidates with strong issue management, remediation, and RCSA experience who are comfortable operating across multiple business lines simultaneously will be well positioned.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and perform QA over core first-line NFR programs and artifacts including RCSA, process mapping and control inventory, control design and testing alignment, risk events and issues management, remediation tracking, and KRI reporting
  • Own the quality, completeness, and timeliness of assigned NFR deliverables including documentation of QA conclusions and supporting evidence
  • Perform targeted risk and control assessments to evaluate the adequacy of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and controls;provide actionable recommendations to strengthen the control environment
  • Provide Control Officer coverage and advisory support for assigned corporate functions including participation in key initiatives, change programs, and process changes to ensure appropriate risk and control considerations are embedded
  • Coach and provide QA challenge to embedded First Line Control Officers and process/control owners on control execution, documentation quality, testing readiness, and remediation evidence
  • Execute risk program QA reviews to assess completeness, quality of rationale, risk-to-control linkages, and sufficiency of evidence;identify themes and drive continuous improvement
  • Report QA results, key themes, and emerging risks through NFR governance forums;develop and maintain first-line risk control guidance including minimum standards, procedures, templates, and playbooks
  • Act as liaison to second and third line risk, compliance, and audit teams to facilitate effective challenge and coordinate responses to inquiries
  • Support NFR-related regulatory examinations, compliance reviews, and internal audits as a first-line subject matter expert
  • Produce and maintain NFR management information including dashboards and reporting on NFR profile, KRI trends, issue and remediation status, and QA outcomes
  • Deliver communications and training to promote awareness and consistent adoption of NFR policies, standards, and control best practices
