Job Summary
Mohave County Public Works - Emergency Management Division is currently seeking to fill a Volunteer Radio Operator position.
We are located at 3715 Sunshine Dr., Kingman, AZ.
Our Mission
To ensure Mohave County is prepared to protect against, mitigate the effects of, respond to, and recover from the hazards and threats that pose the greatest risk to the County. Mohave County has developed the Emergency Response and Recovery Plan/Emergency Operations Plan to help save lives and protect public health and property. This plan complies with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the National Response Framework (NRF).
Performs work in emergency communications and support functions under the County's Homeland Security and Emergency Management Program. The Radio Operator role includes responsibilities for the installation, operation, and maintenance of public safety communications assets including fixed and mobile two-way radio equipment, telecommunications equipment, and interoperability software and hardware. Incumbents are expected to possess a working knowledge of electronics and communications, with skills that may range from entry-level to more advanced capabilities depending on assignment. Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission rules and regulations governing governmental radio transmitters and receivers may be required depending on duties.

Work is performed under the direction of the Homeland Security/Emergency Management Manager and/or his/her designee.
