Job Description: The Volunteer Center Coordinator works with volunteers to sort and package food for distribution and meet all product, inventory, and safety guidelines. This role requires someone who is highly engaging that enjoys building relationships with diverse groups of people to support creating a fun and rewarding experience for the 12,000+ volunteers who give their time to our mission in a year.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet, train, and supervise volunteers during shifts
- Prepare the Volunteer Center for scheduled projects and clean up after shifts
- Properly label, track, and document product flowing through the Volunteer Center in accordance with operations and food safety guidelines
- Maintain a food-safe environment in accordance with American Institute of Baking International (AIB) standards
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse volunteer populations
- Strong group facilitation skills with the ability to motivate and coach volunteers
- Must be a good team player and enjoy working in a team environment
- Ability or willingness to learn how to operate warehouse equipment and inventory processes
- Understanding of or ability to learn food safety, AIB requirements, and warehouse operating standards

Physical / Other Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an active warehouse environment
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods during volunteer shifts
- Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must pass a drug screen and background check.
