Description: The Graduate Assistant (GA) for Women's Volleyball is a vital part of the coaching staff at King University assisting in all facets of the volleyball program while pursuing a graduate degree. This individual will support the Head Coach in planning and executing training sessions, match preparation, recruiting, administrative tasks, and fostering a positive team environment.
Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree required; acceptance into a graduate program at [Insert University Name] required. • Collegiate playing experience or previous coaching experience preferred. • Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategy, and NCAA rules. • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. • Valid driver's license and ability to travel with the team.
Responsibilities: Coaching & Player Development • Assist with planning and leading practices, drills, and skill development sessions. • Provide one-on-one and group instruction to student-athletes. • Support in-game coaching, bench management, and tactical adjustments. • Assist with video breakdown and performance analysis. Recruiting • Help identify and evaluate prospective student-athletes. • Maintain correspondence with recruits and their families in compliance with institutional and conference guidelines. • Assist with organizing and executing official/unofficial campus visits. Administrative Duties • Coordinate team travel logistics, including transportation, lodging, and meals. • Assist with equipment management and inventory. • Help maintain compliance with NCAA and institutional policies. • Organize and manage team documents, schedules, and reports. Academic & Team Support • Monitor and support academic progress of student-athletes. • Promote a culture of discipline, accountability, and teamwork. • Participate in community outreach and team-building events. Video & Technology • Assist in filming practices and matches. • Manage video analysis platforms (e.g., Hudl, Volleymetrics). • Create highlight or scouting videos as needed.
