Help Build Something Different in Youth Volleyball

Amplify Performance Center is bringing a new approach to volleyball development to the Tampa Bay area.

We're building a year-round athlete-development environment where volleyball skills, decision-making, volleyball IQ, communication, and athletic performance come together.

We're looking for an experienced, passionate volleyball coach who can do more than run drills. We want someone who can lead an entire group of athletes, build their confidence, develop their technical skills, and create a high-energy environment where real improvement happens.

This is an opportunity to join our founding coaching team and help build something special from the beginning.

The Opportunity

Our coaching model is built around small-group training environments called Pods. Each Pod includes up to 12 athletes grouped according to developmental readiness.

We are seeking coaches with the experience, leadership ability, and technical knowledge to earn authorization to run these sessions independently.

You'll work within our structured Amplify coaching methodology, under the technical direction of our Volleyball Director.

What You'll Do

  • Lead structured, high-energy volleyball development sessions for youth athletes.

  • Teach fundamental and advanced volleyball techniques appropriate to each athlete's level.

  • Develop athletes' volleyball IQ, decision-making, movement, communication, and competitive confidence.

  • Manage a Pod of up to 12 athletes while maintaining excellent organization, engagement, and safety.

  • Deliver training through our four-part coaching structure: Activation, Skill Environment, Transition, and Competitive Play.

  • Create purposeful drills, small-sided games, and competitive learning environments.

  • Coordinate volleyball training with integrated athletic performance activities.

  • Evaluate athlete progress and provide meaningful feedback.

  • Support private lessons, semi-private training, clinics, and specialty programs as authorized.

  • Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, and fellow coaches.

  • Participate in paid professional development, coaching evaluations, and training.

What We're Looking For

Preferred qualifications:

  • Two or more years of volleyball coaching experience, preferably with youth or high-school athletes.

  • Strong volleyball playing background and understanding of modern technical development.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently organize and lead group training.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and athlete engagement skills.

  • Ability to coach athletes with different skill levels and learning needs.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain an energetic, structured training environment.

  • Willingness to learn, embrace feedback, and follow a consistent coaching methodology.

  • Availability for at least two consistent weekday evenings and reasonable weekend availability.

Candidates must successfully complete required background screening, athlete-safety training, and applicable safeguarding requirements before working with athletes.

CPR and first-aid certification, or willingness to obtain them within the required timeframe, is expected.

What Makes Amplify Different

We're not a traditional volleyball club.

Our focus is individualized athlete development, not running teams through a competitive season.

We emphasize:

  • Technical skill development and mastery.

  • Volleyball IQ and decision-making under pressure.

  • Athletic performance, movement quality, and confidence.

  • Structured progression and measurable athlete improvement.

  • Positive coaching relationships and long-term development.

Our goal is to create an environment where athletes want to improve, coaches love teaching, and parents can see meaningful progress.

Compensation and Development

  • Competitive hourly compensation of $24–$28 based on qualifications and authorized responsibilities.

  • Paid onboarding, required training, and professional development.

  • Opportunities to earn additional compensation through approved private and semi-private training.

  • Structured coaching feedback and professional growth opportunities.

  • Potential for increased responsibility as our programs expand.

Independent Pod leadership requires successful completion of Amplify's coaching evaluation and authorization process. Prior experience alone does not automatically confer independent coaching authority.
