    When a network connection goes down, a cable fails, or an existing system needs to be modified, you re the technician people call to figure it out.

    TradeSTAR is seeking an experienced Voice & Data Service Technician for commercial service work throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This opportunity is designed for a technician who can troubleshoot structured cabling systems, complete moves/adds/changes, work independently, and provide professional service directly to customers.

    What You ll Be Doing

    • Troubleshoot and service existing commercial voice and data cabling systems

    • Diagnose connectivity issues and determine the appropriate repair or solution

    • Perform moves, adds, and changes (MAC work) in active commercial environments

    • Install, terminate, repair, and test Cat6 and Cat6A cabling

    • Troubleshoot, terminate, and repair fiber optic cabling

    • Test and certify copper and fiber installations using industry-standard equipment

    • Trace, identify, label, and document existing cabling

    • Perform service work within MDFs, IDFs, telecom rooms, and equipment spaces

    • Troubleshoot jacks, patch panels, cable runs, and related network infrastructure

    • Read prints, floor plans, cable schedules, and other project documentation

    • Coordinate with customer IT departments, facility personnel, project teams, and end users

    • Document completed service calls, materials used, and corrective actions

    • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and professionally with customers

    • Manage assigned service calls and daily responsibilities with limited supervision

    What We re Looking For

    • 3+ years of commercial voice/data, structured cabling, or low-voltage experience preferred

    • Previous experience performing service, troubleshooting, and MAC work

    • Strong hands-on knowledge of Cat6 and Cat6A structured cabling systems

    • Experience terminating, testing, repairing, and troubleshooting copper cabling

    • Fiber optic troubleshooting and termination experience

    • Experience using cable certification and troubleshooting equipment

    • Comfortable working in MDF/IDF and telecom environments

    • Ability to trace and diagnose problems within existing cabling infrastructure

    • Basic understanding of IP networking and network connectivity

    • Ability to read prints, floor plans, and technical documentation

    • Basic computer skills and experience completing electronic service documentation

    • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field

    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

    • Professional communication and customer-service skills

    • Valid driver s license and reliable transportation
