Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a Vmware NSX Security Engineer for a Contract with a client in Spring, TX. The ideal candidate is Responsible for designing and enforcing micro-segmentation and distributed firewall policies while managing NSX network virtualization, routing, and security infrastructure across hybrid cloud environments.

Rate Range: $64/Hour to $68/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Vmware NSX Security Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, and manage VMware NSX-T network virtualization and security solutions across enterprise and hybrid cloud environments.

  • Configure and maintain distributed firewalls (DFW), micro-segmentation policies, and zero-trust security controls to protect critical workloads.

  • Deploy and administer logical switching, Tier-0/Tier-1 routing, VPNs, load balancers, and network overlay technologies using NSX.

  • Perform NSX lifecycle management activities including upgrades, patching, scaling, and maintenance of NSX Managers, Edge Nodes, and Transport Nodes.

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and security policy deployment using PowerShell, Python, Terraform, and NSX APIs.

  • Monitor network health, analyze security events and logs, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to support incident response and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure security, or VMware administration, with at least 3+ years of hands-on VMware NSX-T experience.

  • Strong expertise in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, NSX-T, and network virtualization technologies.

  • Advanced knowledge of networking protocols including BGP, OSPF, VXLAN/Geneve, VLANs, TCP/IP, and enterprise firewall/security concepts.

Pay Details: $64.00 to $68.00 per hour
