Description

Varmoda is seeking an experienced VMWare Aria Consultant to design, implement, optimize, and support VMware Aria solutions within complex federal IT environments. This role will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, networking, and security teams to build scalable virtualization platforms, automate provisioning and lifecycle management, and integrate VMware technologies with enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate will possess deep VMware expertise, strong infrastructure and networking skills, and the ability to provide technical leadership in support of federal modernization initiatives. This position will also contribute to continuous improvement efforts across Varmoda's virtualization and cloud service offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain VMware Aria solutions across enterprise and federal environments.
  • Configure and optimize VMware Aria Automation, Aria Operations, and Aria Orchestrator components.
  • Develop and maintain virtualized infrastructure supporting cloud and hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, lifecycle management, and operational workflows.
  • Perform capacity planning, performance analysis, monitoring, and infrastructure tuning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving:
    • VMware Aria Platforms
    • Virtual Machines
    • Infrastructure Services
    • Networking Components
    • Windows Server Environments
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and operations teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Integrate VMware Aria technologies with existing enterprise tools, cloud platforms, and operational processes.
  • Develop architecture documentation, implementation guides, and operational procedures.
  • Support compliance initiatives and align solutions with federal security requirements and best practices.
  • Participate in technical reviews, solution design sessions, and client-facing discussions.
  • Provide ongoing operational support and recommendations for continuous service improvement.
  • Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong infrastructure experience supporting:
    • Virtualization Platforms
    • Enterprise Servers
    • Cloud Environments
    • Hybrid Cloud Solutions
  • Hands-on experience with VMware Aria (formerly vRealize) including:
    • Aria Automation
    • Aria Operations
    • Aria Orchestrator
    • Related VMware Cloud Management Services
  • Strong troubleshooting experience across VMware environments and enterprise infrastructure platforms.
  • Experience supporting Windows Server environments including:
    • Configuration
    • Patching
    • Security Management
    • VMware Integration
  • Strong networking knowledge including:
    • TCP/IP
    • VLANs
    • Routing
    • Firewalls
    • Virtual Networking
  • Experience integrating virtualized environments with on-premises and cloud-based platforms.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in McLean, Virginia.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal government environments.
  • Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks, including:
    • FISMA
    • NIST
    • Federal Security Controls
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and orchestration.
  • Experience integrating VMware environments with cloud platforms and enterprise management tools.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resiliency strategies.
  • Experience supporting large-scale virtualization transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working within highly regulated IT environments.

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent VMware certification.
