    A successful candidate will be able to:

    • Exhibit strong ability to develop connections with middle school students and to cultivate an atmosphere of mutual respect
    • Willingness to contribute to a learning environment that values and addresses the social-emotional needs of students
    • Design, implement, assess and manage high-quality Fine Arts instruction to meet the needs of all students
    • Seeks to develop curricula integrating arts, STEAM-D, and humanities through experiential learning and community connections.
    • Collaborate with teachers, school and district administrators to develop curriculum and intentional infusion of technology to maximize student engagement and to differentiate instruction
    • Effectively manage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain a productive, growth-oriented learning environment
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, administrators and the community
    • Keep parents up-to-date of student progress through use of standards-based report cards, electronic gradebook, emails and/or other means of communication

    Qualifications:

    • Masters Degree preferred
    • NYS Certification in Visual Arts (Pre K-12)
