VISTA Resource Development Specialist
The African Immigrant Family Services (AIFS), is a nonprofit founded to empower African immigrant and refugee families in Omaha through culturally and linguistically responsive education, health, family support, and community engagement programs. AIFS serves 22 different African nations assisting in alleviating poverty and addressing issues such as food shortage, housing, language translation, public health and aiding low income families to navigate through public service programs. AIFS is located in the Omaha Metro area serving families across Douglas and Sarpy Counties, including embedded programming in 63 partner schools. VISTA member will build out AIFS''s capital resource development infrastructure: a grant prospect research and management system, a grant calendar and compliance tracking system, a proposal library and organizational templates and replicable forms, donor stewardship system, corporate sponsorship and business partnership program, and an annual researched based mission compliant fundraising plan - strengthening AIFS''s long-term financial sustainability. VISTA will gain experience and build upon skills associated with grant writing/editing for staff review, community outreach for fundraising, increase donor relations through networking, utilize nonprofit management trainings. AIFS is a small, close-knit team doing outsized good for a community that mainstream providers often can''t reach. Member Duties : VISTA Member will conduct research to compile a grant prospect pipeline, with a management system to track opportunities and partnerships which align with AIFS mission and vision Member will build out a grant calendar and compliance tracking system for reporting deadlines and requirements, including reporting requirements. Member will create a proposal library and organizational templates and reproducible forms for faster, more consistent applications Member will develop a donor stewardship and relationship management system Member will establish a corporate sponsorship and business partnership program, and an annual fundraising plan through staff and board discussions, incorporating community partners and program needs.
