VISTA Community Outreach Coordinator
Strengthen the City of Poplarville''s organizational and community capacity to address poverty, increase economic stability, and improve access to resources for underserved residents by establishing sustainable grant development, volunteer engagement, partnership, and outreach systems. The project supports the AmeriCorps VISTA focus areas of Economic Opportunity and Healthy Futures. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.
Member Duties : The Vista member will strengthen community partnerships and develop sustainable volunteer and outreach systems to support low-income residents of Poplarville. Responsibilities include identifying community needs, building relationships with local nonprofits, schools, businesses, and local faith-based organizations, and developing volunteer recruitment and coordination procedures. The member will create outreach materials, community resources directories, and organizational tracking systems; the position will also support collaborative planning related to food security, workforce opportunities, housing stability, and community wellness. These efforts will strengthen the City's ability to coordinate resources and address poverty-related challenges.
