Job Title Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor Department CIST Essential Functions
The College of Information Science & Technology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) invites applications for multiple one-year visiting faculty positions at the rank of visiting assistant professor or visiting instructor. The desired start date for these positions is August 2026.
Successful applicants will have a passion for student-centered graduate and undergraduate teaching and show potential to develop a portfolio of teaching excellence that contributes to UNO's engaged metropolitan campus mission. Candidates should share a commitment to broadening participation in computing through their teaching and/or professional engagements.
Applicants with expertise in all areas of computing are encouraged to apply. Those with a background in computer architecture, networking, software engineering, database systems, human-centered computing, are of particular interest. Visiting faculty will be expected to support coursework essential for undergraduate and graduate programs in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and management information systems.

Work Schedule M-F 8-5, As assigned, some evening classes may be scheduled Additional Duties
Visiting faculty will primarily teach in-person courses, but online courses may be assigned based on scheduling needs. Contributions to service within the university are expected.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold an earned master's or doctoral degree in a computing discipline including Computer Science and related disciplines. Those seeking a visiting assistant professor title must hold an earned doctorate or be actively ABD in a doctoral program in computing.
