    Position Summary

    The UNC Department of Psychiatry is seeking an Open Rank Psychiatrist to work virtually providing psychiatric care to inpatient individuals and individuals in emergency departments via our EPIC platform. You will work virtually, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team at Jonas Hills Hospital and other entities within the UNC Health system. The candidate will maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EPIC) and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position offers the flexibility of virtual work while making a significant impact on the lives of those in need. The primary shift would be weekdays, daytime hours and yet require participation in the call pool for occasional weekend coverage. This is a fixed term faculty position. Appointment rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

    • MD/DO or equivalent.
    • Board eligible/certified psychiatrist.
    • Eligible for a state of North Carolina medical license.

    Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

    • Telepsychiatry experience preferred but not required.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual team environment.
