Turn Field Data into Better Construction Decisions

Positioned as a project-embedded Senior Associate on HITT's Virtual Construction team, this role is based on-site

full time and dedicated to helping field teams plan, install, verify, and track work more effectively. You will work

alongside Superintendents, Project Engineers, Project Managers, trade partners, and the project VC team to

connect digital information with daily field execution.

This position leads the project's reality capture and installation tracking programs while supporting the broader

field-enablement workflow. The objective is not simply to collect data or maintain models; it is to turn current field

information into timely, practical actions that improve production, quality, coordination, and turnover.

Position Overview

Serving as the project-embedded Virtual Construction field-enablement lead, the Senior Associate establishes and

manages the workflows that connect planned work, coordinated information, actual field conditions, and

installation status. The role provides field leadership with a reliable view of what is ready, installed, verified,

incomplete, or at risk.

The Senior Associate directly oversees reality capture and installation tracking and coordinates their use across

look-ahead planning, constructability, QA/QC, issue resolution, progress reporting, as-built documentation, and

turnover. This role complements the project's BIM coordination team and does not replace trade responsibility for

means, methods, quality, or contractual deliverables.

Core Responsibilities

Reality Capture Program Leadership

• Develop and manage the project reality capture plan, including objectives, coverage, cadence, responsibilities,

naming standards, data storage, and required outputs.

• Coordinate and execute approved capture methods, which may include terrestrial laser scanning, mobile or SLAM

scanning, 360-degree imagery, photogrammetry, and drone capture.

• Translate captured conditions into usable information for field planning, installation verification, QA/QC, issue

resolution, progress documentation, and turnover.

• Manage scan registration, model alignment, data quality, access, and documentation so information remains

current, traceable, and practical for project teams.

• Coordinate capture timing with field leadership so work is documented before concealment and at other project defined miles

Installation and Production Tracking

• Establish and maintain installation tracking by area, system, trade, or work package using agreed status definitions

and update frequencies.

• Integrate field observations, reality capture, model information, trade updates, and project controls data into a

consistent view of installed, verified, deficient, and remaining work.

• Compare planned work with actual installation and communicate variances, blocked work, downstream impacts, and

emerging constraints to field leadership.

• Support look-ahead planning, production discussions, turnover readiness, and recovery planning with visual,

location-based reporting.

• Confirm that progress reporting methods are transparent, repeatable, and aligned with project controls; do not treat

captured imagery alone as verified percent complete.

Field-Ready Information and Constraint Removal

• Translate coordinated model information into practical field deliverables such as installation views, lift drawings,

dimensioned details, logistics views, and work-package exhibits.

• Support constructability reviews and identify access, clearance, tolerance, penetration, embed, sequencing, and

installation constraints before they affect field production.

• Connect field questions and observed conditions to the appropriate coordination, design clarification, RFI, or issueresolution workflow.

• Maintain clear revision and status controls so field teams can identify the current information governing the work.

Planning, Sequencing, and Work Packaging

• Support model-based logistics, phasing, installation sequencing, temporary conditions, and planning for complex or

constrained work areas.

• Partner with field leadership and trade partners to organize model information around upcoming work, project

milestones, and installation priorities.

• Use current field conditions and installation status to inform make-ready planning and highlight constraints before

planned starts.

• Develop focused visualizations and 4D studies when they materially improve planning, communication, or decisionmaking.

Field Technology and Team Integration

Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for VC field-enablement workflows and maintain daily alignment with

Superintendents, Project Engineers, Project Managers, trade partners, and the project VC team.

• Promote practical field access to current models, capture data, installation status, and issue information through

approved project platforms and mobile tools.

• Train project team members on the intended use, limitations, and responsibilities associated with reality capture,

model-based deliverables, and tracking workflows.

• Measure adoption and workflow effectiveness and recommend improvements based on field feedback and project

results.

Leadership and Continuous Improvement

• Maintain HITT quality standards for field-enablement deliverables, data management, and reporting.

• Mentor junior team members and support the development of consistent VC field practices.

• Document lessons learned, repeatable processes, and measurable outcomes that can improve future projects.

Required Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in commercial construction, including 2+ years of BIM/VDC or construction-technology

experience.

• Demonstrated experience working directly with Superintendents, Project Engineers, Project Managers, and trade

partners in an active jobsite environment.

• Working knowledge of commercial construction means and methods, field sequencing, work packaging, quality

control, and turnover.

• Experience managing reality capture workflows and converting captured conditions into actionable project

information.

• Experience developing or maintaining location-based installation or progress-tracking workflows.

• Proficiency with relevant coordination, model review, reality capture, and field collaboration platforms.

• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information in practical

field terms.

• Ability to organize multiple data sources, maintain reliable status controls, and follow through on issues to

resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a project-dedicated or field-embedded VC role.

• Experience with laser scanning, mobile scanning, 360-degree documentation, photogrammetry, drones, and scan-tomodel comparison.

• Experience with Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and reality capture processing or analysis

platforms.

• Experience integrating installation tracking with look-ahead planning, project controls, QA/QC, or turnover

workflows.

• Experience with robotic layout, prefabrication support, 4D planning, or model-based work packaging.

• Experience supporting large-scale or technically complex projects such as data centers, healthcare, aviation, or

advanced manufacturing.
