JOB
PURPOSE
SUMMARY:
This
position
is
responsible
for
retrieving,
organizing,
and
maintaining
bus
video
footage
to
support
investigations
related
to
student
and
driver
safety
concerns.
This
position
is
also
responsible
for
managing
and
troubleshooting
all
bus
technology
systems,
including
but
not
limited
to
DVRs,
cameras,
and
Smart
Tag
equipment.
KEY
FUNCTIONS,
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES,
AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
Duties:
1.
Responsible
for
school
bus
video
footage
retrieval,
storage,
and
archiving.
2.
Perform
minor
repairs,
preventative
maintenance,
diagnostics,
and
inspections
on
all
district
vehicle
camera
systems.
3.
Reports
non-working
cameras
(video
or
audio)
to
shop
personnel
for
immediate
repair.
Assist
mechanics
with
in-depth
issues.
4.
Ensures
quality
control
on
video
systems
by
updating
unit
number,
date
and
time
in
system
as
needed.
5.
Responsible
for
Klein
ISD
video
equipment
and
saving
and
viewing
video
clips.
6.
Maintain
accurate
records
for
customer
support
calls
with
vendors.
Ability
to
manage
and
track
warranty
claims
with
vendors.
7.
Maintain
supervisor
video
request
log
to
document
requested
video
and
time
saved.
8.
Assist
Supervisors
and
Administrators
as
needed
with
all
Smart
Tag
duties.
9.
Report
video
review
process
observations
to
the
transportation
administration
team.
10.
Responsible
for
reporting
any
issues
of
non-compliance
of
policy
or
procedures
to
the
employee's
immediate
supervisor.
11.
Prepare,
compose,
and
typing
of
correspondence,
memorandum,
and
reports.
12.
Assist
in
the
shop
office
with
registrations,
reports
and
clerical
duties.
13.
Follows
all
Klein
I.S.D.
and
Transportation
Department
policies
and
procedures
using
sound,
independent
judgment.
14.
Ability
to
function
as
a
School
Bus
Attendant
when
needed.
15.
Attend
and
participate
in
in-service
as
well
as
periodic
training
as
directed
by
the
supervisor.
16.
Maintains
confidentiality
and
security
of
information
of
a
confidential
nature.
17.
Works
effectively
with
district
administrators,
school
campus
personnel,
vendors,
faculty,
staff,
and
parents.
18.
Perform
other
duties
and
functions
as
assigned
by
the
Director,
or
supervisors,
up
to
and
including
extra
runs
as
needed.
19.
Perform
all
other
duties
assigned
by
the
Technology
Coordinator,
Assistant
Director
of
Fleet

or

21.
Demonstrates
and
maintains
proficient
working
knowledge
and
understanding
of
compliance
requirements
and
standards
including,
but
not
limited
to,
student
transportation
safety,
workplace
safety,
personal
protective
equipment
(PPE)
use,
safe
operation
of
bus
equipment,
emergency
evacuation
procedures,
as
well
as
protocols
governing
secure
handling
of
safety
restraints,
wheelchair
lifts,
and
other
specialized
equipment
to
maintain
a
safe
and
compliant
transportation
environment
for
all
passengers.
22.
Monitors
respective
work
activity
for
variances
and
anomalies.
23.
Ensure
all
vehicle
inspections,
repairs,
and
maintenance
activities
are
performed
in
accordance
with
federal,
state,
and
local
regulations,
including
Texas
Department
of
Public
Safety
(DPS)
and
Department
of
Transportation
(DOT)
standards.
24.
Maintain
thorough
documentation
of
all
mechanical
work,
inspections,
and
service
records
to
support
audits,
safety
reviews,
and
regulatory
compliance.
25.
Adheres
to
all
other
District
wide
policies
and
procedures
including,
but
not
limited
to,
human
resources,
safety,
and
emergency
protocols.

PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS
&
WORKING
CONDITIONS:
34.
This
position
requires
frequent
sitting,
walking,
standing
(including
for
extended
periods),
and
occasional
climbing
of
ladders
to
set
up
or
adjust
video
equipment.
It
also
involves
bending,
squatting,
and
stooping,
with
occasional
crawling
in
tight
spaces
during
equipment
setup
or
breakdown.
The
role
may
require
lifting
and
carrying
objects,
such
as
video
equipment,
up
to
50
lbs.
Frequent
use
of
personal
protective
equipment
(PPE)
may
be
necessary
during
certain
productions
or
when
working
in
outdoor
environments.

include

seeing,
speaking,
hearing,
listening,
organizing,
interpreting
data
and
information,
operating
video

equipment,
