The Video Surveillance System (VSS) team, within Unified Communications, has the responsibility of managing the City of Philadelphia's Police Video Surveillance equipment and network; including video management software administration, maintain storage data and integrate video feeds from external sources. Responsibilities of this position include performing field operations tasks daily and emergency requests based on the public safety needs of the City. This includes but not limited to installation of data lines and hanging optical fiber cabling, culminating to programming internet protocol surveillance cameras for Police and other City agencies, placing and programming of License Plate Readers throughout the city, repairing and installing video surveillance cameras, installing and repairing fiber and maintaining the wireless infrastructure throughout the city on street furniture and building rooftops.
