About the Position

The Video Producer & Director is responsible for delivering high quality marketing, curriculum, and internal videos that advance our brand and contributes to adding value to the student experience at University of Phoenix. The Video Producer/Director manages and participates in many aspects of video creation and services including scheduling projects, operating equipment, directing, and editing. Depending on the project, the Video Producer & Director may be responsible for producing, directing, or assisting in various technical capacities.

What You'll Do

1. Direct and produce video projects of varying complexity under general supervision.

2. Work directly with the client and channel managers to develop comprehensive creative solutions geared for multi-media, rich-media productions, events, and broadcasts.

3. Work with vendors on budgeting, project oversight, and deadline management.

4. Review scripts to ensure feasibility and alignment with clients' needs while strategically implementing industry standards for user/viewer consumption.

5. Coordinate props, wardrobe, make up, set design, and the direction of all talent during the production, including overseeing co-worker's sets when needed.

6. Perform quality assurance in all phases of production.

7. Oversee completion of assigned video projects in a timely manner, including script development, filming, editing, creative production and distribution of material.

8. Provide work direction to project team members and review products.

9. Operate audio/video/photography equipment as needed.

10. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in television and film production or related field or equivalent work experience in commercial, broadcast, or business video production.
• Four (4) years of job related experience.
• Experience editing video, processing audio and video compression for Web delivery and multiple formats.
• Experience with producing and directing a diversity of production types including motion graphics, animation, commercial style video, standard "talking head" videos, and b-roll.
• Experience maintaining video archives
• Experience selecting and using stock media.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• University of Phoenix experience, specific to delivering high quality marketing, curriculum, and internal videos.
• Experience with curriculum design
• Experience with still photography
• Experience with budgeting, supervising vendors and crew, and managing deadlines.
• Ability to take initiative to identify gaps in corporate asset library and acquire new footage/assets.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communications skills with all levels of staff including executive levels.
• Ability to organize, direct and communicate with crew members in an efficient, clear, and courteous manner.
• Ability to interview subjects and help them feel comfortable on-camera
• Ability to execute in fast-paced and complex environment involving multiple subsidiaries, deadlines, conflicting priorities, and simultaneous projects.
• Innovative thinker able to apply analysis and creativity to problem-solving and solutions.
• Ability to effectively contribute while working independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Final Cut Pro, Motion, Adobe After Effects, Premiere and Photoshop.

Pay Range

The annual pay range for this position is $49,000 (minimum), $71,700 (midpoint), and $94,400 (maximum).*

• Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget. Compensation above the midpoint is generally associated with experienced, long-tenured employees who have demonstrated sustained performance and expertise in the role.
