The Video Editor works with marketing, communications, creative, and internal customers to turn raw footage into top quality finished video in support of marketing and communications efforts. The video editor will support a range of video needs, from executive communications, corporate initiatives, employee communications, highlight reels, technology/process demonstrations, marketing pursuits, informative videos, HR initiatives, and training.

As a Video Editor you will:
- Enforce the corporate brand standards to maintain a consistent look within all materials
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the production team to bring video concepts to fruition
- Edit video from approved shot list, storyboard or script
- Edit with an emphasis on storytelling, impact and engagement
- Assemble interview, mini-doc, explainer, and highlight content from long-form footage, identifying the strongest soundbites and the narrative through line
- Use music and sound effects in a way that enhances the story you are trying to tell
- Mix and enhance audio — level dialogue, clean up production sound, and balance music beds for multiple delivery platforms
- Color correct and grade footage to achieve a consistent, polished look across all deliverables
- Design and animate motion graphics — titles, lower thirds, data visualization, and logo animation — that support or encompass video messaging
- Build and maintain motion graphics templates that keep recurring series on brand and on schedule
- Manage project timelines from rough cut through final delivery, incorporating feedback rounds efficiently
- Research and understand industry and design trends
- Create and maintain an organized project file structure
- Ingest, back up, and manage media, including proxy workflows and archiving of completed projects
- Catalogue and organize completed media to be accessible by the larger organization
- Support creation of video assets and digital projects, such as company apps, website, intranet, and digital signage
- Serve as a back-up for filming needs when necessary

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in videography, media, communications, or related field required
- 5+ years of prior editing experience in a fast-paced, production-related role preferred
- Advanced proficiency in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe After Effects, with working knowledge of the broader Adobe Creative Suite
- Demonstrated motion graphics ability — reel or portfolio showing original design and animation work preferred.
- Working knowledge of audio post, color grading, and delivery specifications across platforms
- Familiarity with camera formats, codecs, and media management, including transcoding, proxies, and archiving
- Comfortable operating a pro-level digital camera and audio kit to back up primary team resources when necessary
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure with ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines
- Displays commitment to support overall efforts of the marketing group with the expectation that additional hours may be required
- Requires strong executive and client interaction skills
- Understanding of the construction industry a plus
- Availability for local and out-of-town travel (10%)
