Summary: Ashley Furniture is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Vice President of Retail Distribution Center Operations to lead and optimize a large-scale, multi-site retail distribution network. This executive will be responsible for end-to-end operational leadership, ensuring best-in-class service, efficiency, and scalability across all retail distribution centers.

This role will drive strategic transformation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, while building a high-performance culture that supports Ashley's growth and customer experience goals.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Operations Leadership

  • Lead all aspects of retail distribution center operations across multiple locations, including receiving, warehousing, order fulfillment, and last-mile readiness

  • Own operational performance across key metrics including throughput, service levels, inventory accuracy, and cost efficiency

  • Develop and execute a long-term distribution strategy aligned to company growth and retail expansion

Multi-Site & P&L Accountability

  • Oversee a large, geographically dispersed network of distribution centers and leadership teams

  • Maintain full accountability for operational budgets, cost management, and productivity improvements

  • Ensure alignment across regions with standardized processes and performance expectations

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion lean methodologies, automation, and process standardization to improve service, reduce cost, and increase throughput

  • Drive large-scale initiatives in warehouse automation, systems integration, and digital transformation

  • Establish and monitor KPIs to ensure performance is data-driven and continuously improving

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Transportation, Retail Operations, Manufacturing, and IT to ensure seamless product flow from production to customer delivery

  • Partner with Finance to align on cost targets, capital investment, and ROI for operational initiatives

  • Serve as a key executive partner to retail leadership in delivering a best-in-class customer experience

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing leadership team, including Directors, Regional Leaders, and Site General Managers

  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, engagement, and continuous development

  • Drive organizational capability through succession planning, leadership development, and talent strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)

  • 15+ years of progressive operations leadership experience, including senior leadership in distribution, logistics, or supply chain environments

  • Proven experience leading large-scale, multi-site operations with significant workforce size and complexity

  • Demonstrated success with P&L ownership, cost optimization, and operational transformation initiatives

  • Strong expertise in warehouse operations, inventory management systems, and automation technologies

  • Proven ability to lead through change, growth, and large-scale process improvements

Work Environment:

This position is located in an active industrial manufacturing and distribution center with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment in operation. The role may require extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots. The fast-paced environment involves time-sensitive and safety sensitive operations and may include various shift schedules to support production and distribution needs.
