What You'll Do

Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President of development & Head of Fundraising is a senior leader responsible for driving individual and corporate giving strategies to meet an annual goal of ~$6.5M, as well as leading an upcoming capital & capacity-building campaign. This role manages top donor portfolios, oversees major events, leads the Development department team, and acts as the primary staff liaison to the Board's Resource Development Committee.

• Lead Fundraising Strategy & Solicitations - Develop and execute annual fundraising plans, manage top donor portfolios, make direct individual asks, and support the President in key donor relationship asks.
• Drive Capital Campaign Efforts - Partner with the President to plan, execute, and deliver vision support for the upcoming 2026 capital & capacity-building campaign.
• Oversee Events & Systems - Oversee major signature fundraising events and ensure optimal management of department technologies, including MyClubHub (Salesforce) and iWave.
• Direct & Mentor Development Team - Manage department operations and culture, providing direct supervision to the Senior Director of Major Gifts and Director of Development.
• Board Liaison & Reporting - Produce bi-monthly dashboards, serve as primary liaison to the Resource Development Committee, and prepare Board presentations.
• Manage Cross-Department Alignment - Partner closely with Marketing, Institutional Giving, and Finance to ensure financial reconciliation, messaging alignment, and cohesive operations.
• Build External Partnerships - Foster strategic relationships with funding institutions, consultants, and external vendors to advance fundraising, event production, and planned giving initiatives.

What You Bring

Required

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• 15+ years of leadership experience in fundraising and donor/Board relationship management with proven multi-year track records
• Deep knowledge of resource development, organizational planning, budgeting, and negotiation
• Strong team management and performance-driving capabilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong database proficiency, and a valid driver's license

Preferred

• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Salesforce
• Prior experience in a youth development or community-based organization

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
• Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $195,000-$220,000 annual. Final compensation is determined based on a range of factors, including skill set, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs. Candidates may be hired at the entry, mid, or senior level of the range, depending on qualifications and position requirements.

Pre-Employment Requirements

As part of the hiring process, BGCSF requires candidates to complete LiveScan fingerprinting, a background check, and a tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test.
