Vice President
The Vice President is a senior agency leader who owns portfolio-level strategy, drives performance across multiple client teams through the Directors and Account Leaders who report to them, and operates with full business and financial accountability. In this role, you're the person setting the agency's point of view twelve months out, the one Executive Leadership turns to when a client relationship needs a senior hand, and the one accountable for portfolio performance, budget health, and team development across every account you oversee. You don't just manage the business, you shape where it's headed.
What You'll Do
- Own final accountability for client-facing strategy and deliverables across your portfolio, with Directors managing execution day-to-day
- Set strategic direction for your portfolio at least six to twelve months ahead, briefing Directors and Account Leaders so execution stays ahead of client need
- Ensure KPIs across your full portfolio are met at 100% or above every quarter, with clear visibility into performance on every account underneath you
- Serve as the senior point of escalation and counsel for your most complex or highest-value client relationships
- Provide direct oversight, coaching, and performance management for the Directors and Account Leaders on your team, including regular one-on-ones and structured development plans
- Own budget management across your portfolio: staffing plans, scope, and profitability in partnership with the CEO/President
- Track hours and deliverable accountability across your portfolio monthly, identifying scope creep and resourcing gaps before they become client-facing problems
- Identify and close upsell opportunities across your portfolio
- Lead or co-lead new business developments, RFPs, or pitches, with direct accountability for pitch strategy and presentation development
- Attend industry events, shows, or conferences as an agency representative and thought leader
- Report directly to the CEO/President on portfolio health, team performance, and growth opportunities
Who You Are
- A senior leader clients and colleagues see as a trusted strategic authority, not just an account owner
- Someone who builds and holds accountability across a team of leaders, not just a team of doers
- A strategic operator who thinks in quarters and years, not weeks
- Fluent in budget ownership, scope management, and the connection between agency profitability and client outcomes
- A driving force behind agency growth, comfortable leading pitches and owning new business outcomes
- A people leader who measures success in the growth of the Directors and Account Leaders they develop
- Someone Executive Leadership trusts to represent the agency's point of view without oversight
What You Bring
- 12+ years of PR experience, with agency leadership experience and consumer category expertise required (food & beverage, franchise, lifestyle, and/or CPG)
- BA in Mass Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Proven experience managing and developing managers, not just individual contributors
- Proven ability to develop strategic communications plans and own team performance and KPI deliverables across a diverse portfolio of 7-9+ accounts; with less than 10% client attrition year/year
- Strong fluency in digital capabilities including social media, influencer marketing, and paid media
- Demonstrated budget ownership, scope building, and new business development experience
- Hybrid availability three days per week in office
Salary range is $140,000-$160,000/year, with the top of the range reserved for candidates coming from an equivalent VP-level or senior leadership position.
