The Target Pay Range for this position is $242,000 - $303,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
Job Purpose/Overview
The Vice President of In House Diagnostics (IHD) Systems will lead the innovation, development and support of our IHD product family and services. This strategic leadership role is responsible for overseeing the innovation process and team from conceptual ideas to commercialization handoff for the entire IHD portfolio, including presiding over technical strategic partnerships, supplier technical performance, and internal development initiatives. Furthermore, this role will preside over product life cycle sustaining of all IHD on-market product through life cycle management; even to the technical support of product sunsetting. This role requires close collaboration with Medical, Commercial/Sales, Operations, and IT teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that support the commercialization and sustained growth of IHD offerings globally. Develop and execute comprehensive global diagnostics portfolio strategies aligned with SDx value creation ambition.
Lead the IHD scientific research, innovation and development efforts, supplier partnership and cross functional phased development efforts to ensure product and service excellence.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement, to ensure a competitively differentiated portfolio and enable SDx to gain global market share in veterinary diagnostics.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic IHD Portfolio Vision & Leadership
Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for the in-house diagnostics division, aligning with organizational goals and market opportunities to drive growth and innovation in veterinary diagnostics.
Manage and optimize technical partnerships with suppliers and external collaborators.
Oversee cross functional technical team processes, to co-develop innovation with OEM suppliers – ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
Develop long-term technical partnership relationships that foster collaboration and mutually beneficial IHD innovation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Operations, Medical, IT, and demand / commercial organizations to develop and implement innovations that support product commercialization that meets the market need.
Facilitate communication and alignment across teams to ensure seamless execution of portfolio innovation.
Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and customer-centricity.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead a multidisciplinary team of hardware engineers, software engineers, and scientists, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Build and mentor high-performing teams by providing clear direction, professional development opportunities, and resources for success.
Manage and mentor a team of professionals in strategic planning, supplier management / partnerships, and innovation process excellence.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on innovation, customer-centricity, and results.
Provide guidance and support to the team in executing initiatives and achieving key innovation and business goals.
Education & Experience
Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
PhD. advanced degree preferred (engineering, sciences, chemistry).
Proven experience (20+ years) in product development leadership roles, including experience in healthcare (human or veterinary), with a track record of delivering quality innovation and managing cross-functional teams.
Expertise in innovation technique, process, and execution driving cross functional product development, and market launch preferably from healthcare / life sciences – either in human or pet; understanding the context and industry is important.
20+ years in large innovation leadership roles. Proven delivery of complex systems innovation, background in external co-development through supplier partnerships, and strategic planning, preferably in a regulated environment, within the diagnostics, healthcare, or life sciences sectors.
Experience in hardware (mechanical, electrical, materials,) embedded software, chemistry, optical design, and understanding of bioengineering. Focused on value creation for the long-term; balancing trade- offs to deliver short-term product support.
Preside over future innovation and sustaining on-market product and managing priority shifts for delivering a customer centric product experience.
Established financial acumen: Proven record of managing an R&D budget to deliver innovation on time at quality. Has cost and operational discipline. Experience transforming business processes, to best-in-class standards in order to meet current and future growth requirements.
International perspective: Has experienced multiple market and cultural dynamics; has successfully led culturally diverse teams.
People Leadership: track record of outstanding people leadership; assembling, inspiring and developing diverse and effective teams to meet the future needs of the business
