Candidates who thrive at Reef bring energy, ownership, and a genuine commitment to raising the bar on everything they touch.Position Summary:Reef is seeking a Vice President of Capital Formation to lead Reef's efforts to raise capital from institutional LPs, including public pension systems, sovereign wealth funds, and large corporate/multi-employer pensions, as well as RIAs, wirehouses, and other private wealth channels. This is a newly created, full-time, dedicated hire built to develop direct, programmatic capital-raising relationships with those investors. This person will build and run a repeatable, professionalized outreach and qualification engine across RIAs, wirehouses, institutions, and family offices, and over time, extend that capability to support capital raising from Reef's own member base. Reef has an exceptional track record, having deployed more than $3 billion of investor capital across its investment strategies. The firm has generated returns of over 30% IRR in its real estate development business and approximately 15% unlevered IRR on realized loans within its private credit platform. In addition, Reef manages more than $1 billion in third-party assets under management and has demonstrated strong alignment with its investors by committing over $600 million of its own capital to its projects.Responsibilities:Own outreach and channel development across large RIAs, wirehouse private wealth groups, pensions, insurance companies, family offices, and investment consulting groupsBuild a qualification and relationship-management process for these channels, replacing today's ad hoc approach with a structured, programmatic pipeline.Lead Reef through institutional due diligence and consultant-driven manager search processes, including RFIs/RFPs, operational due diligence questionnaires, and on-site diligence visits, to secure inclusion on approved manager lists.Engage directly with high-net-worth individuals and institutional decisionmakers as the face of Reef in these conversations.Work with secondary market groups, developing relationships relevant to secondary transactions, and liquidity conversations.Support capital raising from Reef's member base (Marcella, Cornerstone, and Black Desert) as the role matures, extending the same relationship-building discipline inward to existing members.Travel extensively to build and sustain these relationships in person; this is expected to be a substantial and ongoing part of the role.Qualifications:Bachelor's in finance, economics or related field; Master's degree or MBA is preferred, but not requiredProven track record raising capital from large institutional LPs, including public pension plans and other major allocators, as well as RIAs and/or wirehouse private wealth channels, with credible relationships already in place.Established relationships with institutional investment consultants who advise public pension plans and other large allocators, with a demonstrated track record of navigating manager searches and securing consultant approval/inclusion on buy lists.Direct experience engaging high-net-worth and institutional investors, including being comfortable serving as the primary point of contact, not just supporting a deal team.Familiarity with secondary market groups and family office channels.Ability to build a relationship-management and qualification process from scratchSelf-directed and comfortable with heavy travelCompany Benefits:401(k) Plan with Company MatchGenerous Health Plan with HSA MatchFlexible Paid Time-offDaily Company LunchesCell Phone Service AllowanceDiscounts at Company-owned Resorts and Golf Courses
