FULL-TIME SENIOR VETERINARY NURSE - Vineyard Vet Hospital

Vineyard Vet Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and compassionate Senior Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team.

About the Role

This is a full-time senior nursing position working across a varied and engaging caseload. Alongside hands-on nursing, you will help lead and support the nursing team, maintain high clinical standards, and contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the hospital.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Surgical and medical nursing
• Anaesthetic monitoring and patient recovery
• Consult room assistance and patient handling
• In-patient care and hospital management
• Client communication and education
• Laboratory and diagnostic work
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient clinical environment

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced veterinary nurse who is ready to take the next step in their career and make a positive contribution to our team.

Ideally, you will have:

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years' veterinary nursing experience
• Previous experience in a senior or leadership nursing role is highly regarded
• Strong clinical nursing and animal handling skills
• Confidence with anaesthesia, surgery, hospitalised patients, and emergency situations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to lead by example and support less experienced team members
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and daily hospital operations
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A calm, compassionate, and professional approach to patient care
• The ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians, nurses, and support staff
• A genuine interest in mentoring others and contributing to a positive team culture

Interest or experience in reproduction is highly regarded but not essential.
