Windhaven Veterinary Hospital | Plano, TX

Full-Time | Four-Day Workweek

Windhaven Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our four-doctor small animal practice in Plano, TX. We're looking for someone with strong hands-on clinical skills who enjoys working collaboratively and providing high-quality care to dogs and cats.

Our ideal candidate is comfortable with dentistry, surgery and anesthesia, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement and is looking for a hospital where teamwork, communication, and continued learning are part of the everyday culture.

Windhaven Veterinary Hospital is a well-established, full-service veterinary practice serving pets and their families in Plano and the surrounding North Dallas community.

Our four veterinarians and experienced support team work together to provide comprehensive small animal medicine while maintaining a supportive environment for both our patients and our people.

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Technician, you'll work closely with our veterinarians and support team throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and medical procedures
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Collect and process laboratory samples
• Take and process digital radiographs
• Prepare patients and equipment for surgery
• Monitor anesthesia and support surgical recovery
• Perform dental scaling and polishing
• Assist with dental procedures and dental radiographs
• Administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments
• Obtain patient histories and vital signs
• Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats
• Provide nursing care to hospitalized and outpatient patients
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Educate clients on treatments, medications, and preventive care
• Maintain clean, organized treatment and surgical areas
• Collaborate with doctors and teammates to support efficient hospital flow

What We're Looking For

• Previous hands-on Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant experience preferred
• LVT/RVT/CVT credential preferred but not required
• Proficiency with dental scaling and polishing strongly preferred
• Surgery and anesthesia experience preferred
• Comfortable with venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Strong animal handling and patient-care skills
• Excellent communication and client service skills
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and compassionate
• Comfortable asking questions and continuing to learn
• Team-oriented approach and willingness to help wherever needed

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Four-day workweek
• Every other Saturday
• Closed on major holidays
