Veterinary Technician

Piper Companies is currently seeking a Veterinary Technician to support animal care and research operations for a highly reputable research institution in Philadelphia, PA.

Responsibilities for the Veterinary Technician

• Provide day-to-day care and medical support for animals in a research setting
• Assist with surgical procedures and monitor post-operative recovery
• Perform drug dosing, anesthesia, and treatment administration
• Maintain documentation and coordinate with scientists and external partners
• Contribute to routine lab operations and administrative duties

Qualifications for the Veterinary Technician

• Experience with anesthesia, surgical assistance, and pre/post-operative care
• Comfortable handling rodents and large animals
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities
• Proficient in calculating drug dosages and understanding treatment protocols
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) required

Compensation for the Veterinary Technician

• Hourly Rate: $25/hr. - $27/hr. based on experience
• Contract: 3-month contract with potential for extension or permanent hire
• Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Sick Leave (if required by law)
