Veterinary Technician

About You

You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including intake and discharging patients.

Role responsibilities:

  • Obtain patient history and provide client education
  • Maintain animal records
  • Assist doctors with appointments and surgeries
  • Help with the check in/check out process
  • Restraining pets
  • Administer medications and vaccinations
  • Place IV catheters
  • Perform blood draws
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Maintain supplies and equipment
  • Complete laboratory tests and diagnostics
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Performs any other duties as assigned

 

 

Experience & Skills Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Veterinary Technician
  • Veterinary technician licensure preferred
  • Must have strong hands-on surgical experience, including patient preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative recovery
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, doctors, management, and hospital personnel
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Passion for helping animals and the people who care for them
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be available to work a few Saturdays each month

CanyonVet is a full-service small animal practice located in New Braunfels, Texas providing high quality, dedicated care for every patient. Our hospital has a collaborative team and is committed to a positive work environment.  We pride ourselves on compassionate care and high standards of medical excellence. 

 

We are open Monday-Friday 7:30am-6pm and Saturday 8am-6pm
