About the Role:East-West Animal Hospital LLC is looking for a passionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team in Lutz, FL! Responsibilities:- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Collect and process laboratory samples including blood, urine, and tissue specimens
- Monitor and care for patients during anesthesia and post-operative recovery
- Take and develop digital radiographs (X-rays) with proper positioning and safety protocols
- Educate and communicate with pet owners regarding treatment plans, medications, and home care
- Maintain accurate patient medical records using veterinary practice management software
- Ensure exam rooms, surgical suites, and equipment are clean, stocked, and properly sanitized
- Follow Fear Free Guidelines
Requirements:- Veterinary Technician certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred; equivalent experience considered
- 3+ years of experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting
- Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and patient restraint techniques
- Familiarity with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance protocols
- Strong knowledge of common animal medications, dosages, and safety procedures
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, client-friendly demeanor
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet throughout the shift
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to high-quality patient care
- Fear Free certification -- we can provide access to training.
