At Town and Country Veterinary Clinic, our team believes in treating every patient as if they were our own. We are a group of experienced animal lovers devoted to giving our patients the best care possible. With a focus on preventive care and wellness, we provide comprehensive veterinary care for both cats and dogs.

Job Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

Pulling/running blood work
Placing IV Catheters
Performing nail trims/ear cleanings, etc.
Must be comfortable restraining and working with aggressive patients
Gathering patient history from clients and assisting Doctors in rooms with patients
Running diagnostic testing on blood, urine, stool, and other samples
Helping Doctors with notes and completing vitals
Discussing medications and discharge instructions with owner
Educating clients on their pets health and needs
Administering fluids and medications
Calculating dosage of medications
Caring for hospitalized patients
Prepping patients for surgery, monitoring anesthesia and post-surgery clean up
Other miscellaneous duties within the clinic include: assisting with the phones, checking patients and clients in and out, calling in prescriptions, keeping the clinic orderly, clean, and stocked and assisting with kennels 

Qualifications

This role is ideal for someone who is self driven, compassionate, dependable, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented veterinary setting along with the items below.

  • Reliable team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Able to stay past closing time (5:30pm) in case of Emergencies
  • Weekend availability
  • Ability to safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of all sizes
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks, including lifting, standing, walking, and handling large dogs, pet food, and supplies
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning and disinfecting practices or willingness to learn
  • Compassionate, patient, and calm when caring for sick, injured, or anxious animals.
    Ability to learn how to administer medications and recognize changes in an animal's condition
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Education High school or equivalent
  • Veterinary Clinic Setting 1 year preferred
