We're looking for an experienced technician who enjoys taking initiative, coaching teammates, and helping create an organized, collaborative hospital. You'll partner closely with our Hospital Manager and doctors to support the team, share your knowledge, and help develop the next generation of veterinary professionals-all while continuing to provide exceptional patient care.

Why You'll Love It Here

Kodiak Veterinary Hospital is a two-doctor practice supported by a dedicated team of technicians, assistants, and client service representatives. We've built a positive, supportive culture where every team member feels valued and has the opportunity to grow.

Life in Kodiak is unlike anywhere else. If you love the outdoors, you'll feel right at home. Spend your days off fishing, hiking, kayaking, wildlife watching, or exploring miles of beautiful coastline. Summer brings vibrant farmers markets, community events, and endless opportunities to explore, while winters are milder than many people expect. Kodiak offers a welcoming small-town community where it's easy to build lasting friendships and truly feel at home.

What You'll Do

  • Provide exceptional nursing care during appointments, treatments, surgery, and dentistry
  • Monitor anesthesia, perform laboratory diagnostics, and administer medications
  • Support hospitalized patients and maintain accurate medical records
  • Coach, mentor, and help develop technicians, assistants, and support staff
  • Partner with hospital leadership to strengthen workflows, training, and daily operations
  • Serve as a clinical resource for teammates and help foster a collaborative, supportive culture
  • Participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 2 years of veterinary experience preferred
  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred, but not required
  • Strong technical and nursing skills
  • Previous experience training, coaching, or mentoring team members is highly preferred
  • A collaborative leader who enjoys helping others grow and succeed
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude with a solutions-focused mindset
  • Passion for delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the success of the entire team

What We Offer

  • Full-time or part-time opportunities available
  • Flexible scheduling, with optional 3 days per week
  • Rotating after-hours on-call schedule
  • Weekly on-call stipend, plus additional compensation when called in
  • Health insurance benefits for full-time employees
  • Free mental health benefit options
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Competitive PTO plan
  • Employee pet care discounts
  • Continuing education and professional development opportunities
  • Supportive leadership that genuinely values work-life balance

If you're looking for a rewarding career where your skills are appreciated, your team feels like family, and adventure is waiting just outside your door, we'd love to hear from you.
