    We are looking for a Veterinary Technician Supervisor for VCA Dallas Animal Specialty Hospital in the Cardiology and Internal Medicine Department.

    Location: 17727 Dallas Pkwy #150, Dallas, TX 75287

    Salary - Up to $35/hour based on experience. Credentialed Veterinary Technicians or Veterinary Assistants with supervisor experience encouraged to apply

    Schedule:  Full-Time, 4-5 days a week

    Veterinary Technician Supervisor-Internal Medicine and Cardiology 

    At VCA Dallas Animal Specialty Hospital (formerly Animal Diagnostic Clinic), we are looking for the next leader in our hospital. With your knowledge, skills, and experience in veterinary medicine, you can lead and mentor our internal medicine and cardiology teams. You will work alongside our leadership team to ensure the hospital runs efficiently. You will have the opportunity to build your leadership skills and grow your career. Our internal medicine and cardiology departments consist of 6 doctors, 7 technicians, and 4 technician assistants.

    A veterinary technician supervisor at VCA Dallas includes

    • Directing workflow on the floor
    • Managing call-outs
    • Working cohesively with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital
    • Helping with the interview process for potential new hires
    •  Assisting in the educational development of technicians and their skills
    •  Scheduling staff and conducting team meetings
    • Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
    •  Mentoring and training technicians within the department
    •  Resolving conflicts in a professional and humble manner
    •  Deliver quarterly employee performance feedback 
    •  Monitoring day-to-day activities and engaging with support staff
    • Refining and implementing protocols
    •  Ensure that VCA policies, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.

     

    Qualifications for Veterinary Technician Supervisor: 

    • Licensed Veterinary Technician- CVT, LVT, RVT (preferred)
    • 5 + years of clinical experience; Internal Medicine or Cardiology experience is a plus
    •  2 + years of Team leadership experience
    • Passion for Veterinary Medicine
    •  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Maturity, good judgment, and professional personal appearance
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and delegate medical and administrative tasks
    • Ability to show leadership skills with all levels of experience and job duties
    • Read and respond to all communication promptly
    • Attend leadership meetings

     

    Physical Requirements: 

    • Dependable attendance is required. 
    • Any allergies to animals must be controllable through medication. 
    • Must be able to lift 40 pounds. 
    • Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions.  
    • This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day. 
    • Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written directions. 
    • Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, give information in person and over the telephone. 
    • Fine motor skills adequate for utilizing hospital equipment such as electric clippers, syringes, radiology equipment, laboratory equipment, computers, etc
