This position is ideal for someone who enjoys surgery, anesthesia, teamwork, and a high-volume environment where efficiency and patient safety go hand in hand. The Veterinary Technician plays a vital role in patient care, anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation, recovery, and daily clinic operations. Candidates must be dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent care for every patient. Responsibilities- Prepare patients for surgery, including pre-operative assessments and treatments.
- Place IV catheters and administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
- Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia.
- Monitor patient vital signs and maintain accurate anesthesia records.
- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures.
- Administer vaccines and perform treatments as assigned.
- Monitor post-operative recovery and identify patient concerns.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain surgical and treatment areas.
- Follow all clinic protocols and safety standards.
- Assist with inventory, supply management, and equipment maintenance.
- Provide compassionate care to all patients.
Qualifications- Veterinary Technician experience required.
- Surgical and anesthesia experience preferred.
- High-volume spay/neuter or shelter medicine experience is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Passion for animal welfare and community service.
Physical Requirements- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and move throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of varying sizes.
