Veterinary Specialty Hospital - North County is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Radiologist to join our established Diagnostic Imaging team in San Marcos, California.

This is an opportunity to work alongside an experienced imaging team while becoming an integral part of a deeply multidisciplinary referral hospital. Diagnostic Imaging plays a central role in the clinical decision-making at VSH North County, partnering daily with Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Emergency & Critical Care, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, and Interventional Radiology.

VSH North County is also preparing to move into a new 35,000-square-foot hospital in early 2027, creating expanded clinical capacity and an opportunity for our imaging team to help shape how advanced diagnostic services support the hospital's next phase of growth.

The Opportunity

Our Diagnostic Imaging service provides imaging support across a diverse specialty referral environment, with access to a board-certified radiologist seven days per week. The service supports both diagnostic interpretation and collaborative case management, giving the incoming radiologist the opportunity to work directly with clinicians across multiple specialties.

The hospital offers MRI, CT, digital radiography, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy, along with advanced imaging-guided procedures. These capabilities allow the imaging team to play an active role in complex diagnostics, procedural planning, minimally invasive interventions, and ongoing case management.

You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with our Interventional Radiology team, which works closely with Radiology, Surgery, and Internal Medicine on minimally invasive procedures including vascular interventions, stenting, embolization, and image-guided procedures.

In your day-to-day, you will:

  • Interpret advanced diagnostic imaging studies across a diverse specialty referral caseload
  • Collaborate directly with clinicians across Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, ECC, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, and Interventional Radiology
  • Provide imaging consultation to help guide diagnostic and treatment decisions
  • Support advanced imaging procedures and image-guided interventions
  • Utilize MRI, CT, ultrasound, radiography, and fluoroscopy according to clinical need
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning
  • Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians and serve as an imaging resource for the community
  • Participate in teaching and mentorship of interns, residents, students, and veterinary team members
  • Help shape the continued development of Diagnostic Imaging as VSH transitions to its new hospital
  • Pursue areas of clinical interest, research, and professional development through the broader Ethos network

What You Bring

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for California licensure
  • Board certification in Veterinary Radiology or completion of a recognized radiology residency with board eligibility
  • Strong diagnostic and communication skills
  • A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary medicine
  • Interest in teaching, mentorship, and professional development
  • Commitment to exceptional patient care and referring veterinarian relationships
  • An interest in contributing to the continued development of an established imaging service
