Description

An experienced Veterinarian is sought to serve as Veterinary Medical Director in Banning, CA, with compensation up to $210,000. This leadership position offers a balanced weekday schedule within a supportive, well-equipped general practice.

The Hospital
This full-service small-animal clinic delivers comprehensive care in a calm, clean, and client-focused environment. The practice serves the local community with wellness care, vaccinations, elective and advanced surgery, dentistry, in-house laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging with specialist radiology review when needed, pharmacy services, hospitalization and monitoring, parasite prevention, and routine procedures such as spays/neuters and microchipping. The team culture is collaborative and supportive, with skilled technicians and experienced client service staff. Current posted hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and the clinic is closed on weekends, supporting work-life balance. The Role
- Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care for dogs and cats across wellness, sick, and urgent needs
- Lead clinical standards, quality initiatives, and medical protocols to ensure excellent patient outcomes
- Mentor and coach veterinarians and support staff; foster a collaborative, learning-focused culture
- Oversee case management, client communication, and follow-up to support strong client relationships
- Perform elective and advanced surgeries with appropriate anesthetic monitoring and pain management
- Utilize in-house diagnostics and imaging to drive timely, informed decision-making
- Partner with practice leadership on workflow, scheduling, and process improvements
- Predictable weekday schedule aligned with current posted clinic hours; no weekend coverage

Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Active California veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain)
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Demonstrated proficiency in general practice medicine and surgery
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-service skills
- Commitment to compassionate, community-focused care
