Schedule: Approximately 10 hours per week, primarily on Wednesdays and Saturdays (some scheduling flexibility available)
Pay:$20–$25 per hour, based on experience
Animal Emergency Hospital and Urgent Care is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Cleaner/Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in our busy veterinary ER. This role is essential in supporting the health and comfort of our patients, clients, and team members.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect common surfaces throughout the hospital
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment
- Sweep and mop all hospital floors
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, and floors
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Assist with laundry as needed
- Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the hospital clean, organized, and presentable
Please note: This position is not responsible for cleaning kennels, stocking supplies, or sanitizing medical equipment. Those responsibilities remain with our clinical team.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Is reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Has reliable transportation
- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary hospital
- Can adapt to changing priorities based on patient flow and room availability
- Communicates effectively with team members, especially when coordinating access to occupied spaces
- Is comfortable working around dogs, cats, and animals with a variety of medical conditions
