The Small Animal Hospital is recruiting for a supervisor for our Client Services department. This individual will supervise the Client Service floor staff, oversee scheduling, provide training to staff with communication skills regarding our policies and procedures, and addressing staff concerns as needed.

Classification Minimum Requirements

Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Job Description:

Are you passionate about quality patient care and providing excellent client service? The UF Small Animal Hospital is seeking a highly-motivated supervisor to join our Emergency & Critical Care team.

The supervisor oversees approximately 7-9 full-time team members along with several part-time team members that work for our Emergency & Critical Care Client Services desk. This position requires a composed, sincere individual capable of handling a wide variety of situations even under the most stressful conditions. The individual should be highly motivated and well-organized, and must possess good public relations skills, excellent communication skills, a strong financial background, and the initiative to problem solve. This role requires good interpersonal and active listening skills, confidence in handling customer interactions, experience with relationship building, and the ability to project a professional image.

This position is considered essential personnel, and the individual will be expected to work holidays on a rotating schedule as well as potentially weekends and other days or shifts in order to adequately staff the hospital.

Expected Salary:

$22 - $26/hour

  
Preferred

• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and terminology.

• Knowledge of the equipment and materials used and their availability and applications. Ability to operate a computer and utilize office suite software such as excel


• Experience with budgets and staff scheduling


• Demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other members of the patient care team


• Able to work in a team environment and collaborate with a variety of personnel in a positive manner


• Ability to effectively maintain a working environment while in stressful situations


• Critical thinking skills and a positive attitude


• Able to think independently and demonstrate good problem solving skills
