Veterinary Customer Service Representative  | Thrive Manchaca

Part-time: 2-3 shifts per week and some Saturdays are required

 

About You

As a Veterinary Client Service Representative/Receptionist, you'll be one of the first friendly faces our clients see and an important part of creating a positive experience for pets and their families. We're looking for someone who enjoys helping others, stays organized in a fast-paced environment, and thrives as part of a collaborative team dedicated to exceptional patient and client care.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Greet clients and patients, answer and route multi-line phone calls, and respond to questions with empathy and professionalism
  • Schedule appointments, provide pre-visit instructions, and monitor schedules and wait times
  • Manage patient check-in and discharge, communicate veterinary team instructions, and triage urgent cases
  • Maintain accurate client and patient records, enter charges and reminders, and complete follow-up communication
  • Explain invoices, process payments, and complete daily financial and end-of-day reporting
  • Keep reception and exam areas clean, organized, and stocked
  • Follow hospital policies, maintain knowledge of services, attend required training, and perform other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and customer service experience required; veterinary or animal healthcare experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, accuracy, empathy, and client service skills
  • Ability to use a multi-line phone system, computers, practice management systems, and payment-processing tools
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 40 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to stay on task and work energetically for entire shift, sometimes exceeding 10 hours per day.
  • Veterinary medical terminology knowledge and typing speed of approximately 45 words per minute preferred
