The Triage Technician/Triage Assistant performs a variety of patient- and client-care duties and conducts patient assessments, updates clients in regards to the status of their pet, discusses estimates and policies/procedures with clients, and performs procedures and treatments ordered by the veterinarians.

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and skilled Veterinarian Technicians (RVTs) and Veterinary Assistants to join the triage team at our emergency hospital. The KVVEH triage team's responsibility is to quickly and efficiently evaluate patients presented to the hospital, alert the veterinarian of any pet that must be evaluated immediately, provide appropriate stabilizing treatment as assigned by the veterinarian, and manage the general flow of the triage area. The Triage Technician/Triage Assistant performs a variety of patient- and client-care duties and conducts patient assessments, updates clients in regards to the status of their pet, discusses estimates and policies/procedures with clients, and performs procedures and treatments ordered by the veterinarians.

PART TIME AND FULL TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE.

Responsibilities 
  • Triage all patients arriving at the emergency hospital
  • Monitor patient vital signs and acquire diagnostic samples
  • Review estimates and treatment plans with clients
  • Operate in-house laboratory equipment 
  • Administer outpatient treatments and review discharge instructions with clients
  • Keep accurate patient records
Qualifications
  • Must have previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician credentials (RVT)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and politely with co-workers and clients
  • Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment
  • Compassion for animals and their humans
  • Ability to work in a cooperative, team-based environment
