Overview:
The glue that holds every exam room, surgery prep, and tail wag together
At Vestal Veterinary Hospital, we know it takes a village to care for pets, and Veterinary Assistants are the glue that holds it all together. We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our crew and bring skill, kindness, and hustle to every exam room, surgery prep, and tail wag.
What You'll Do
- Keep accurate medical records and help answer client questions
- Prep patients for exams and surgeries
- Administer medications as directed
- Assist with lab testing (blood, fecal, urine, etc.)
- Clean and sanitize surgical tools, kennels, and exam areas
- Monitor post-op patients and report any changes
- Safely restrain patients during exams and procedures
- Help educate pet parents on medications, treatments, and care
- Partner with Credentialed Technicians and DVMs to provide top-tier care
What We're Looking For
- 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary setting
- A love for animals (obviously), with a calm, steady presence
- A great communicator who works well with clients and teammates
- Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable
- Cool under pressure and comfortable in a busy hospital setting
- Eager to learn and grow in the role
- A team player who knows how to pitch in wherever needed
Schedule
- Full-time, Day shift, 8-hour shifts
- No weekends
- No holiday shifts required
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $16 to $18 per hour, based on experience, skills, and credentials. Final pay will be determined during the hiring process.
