    About This Role

    The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated Small Animal Emergency team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. This position will provide assistance to VHC veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians in the performance of their duties to improve the efficiency of the ER service and improve the client service experience. Duties will include providing clerical and patient care support, triage, and serving as a medical record specialist in the Small Animal Emergency service. Working hours for this position will be Monday & Friday, 11pm-7am, Saturday & Sunday 11pm-11am.

    Worksite Description

    This position is On-site.

    All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

    What You'll Need to Succeed

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school diploma (or equivalent)
    • One year of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Two or more years of experience as a veterinary assistant providing patient care.
    • Ability to work with and provide preventative maintenance for ordinary veterinary medical hospital equipment.
    • Ability to handle, restrain, and provide medical treatments to domestic animals including exotic pets.
    • Willingness to master new techniques.
    • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and comfort with Word and Excel software.
    • Ability to provide software instruction to a variety of audiences.
