Part-Time Veterinary Assistant

All Pets Animal Hospital | Encinitas, CA Pay $22-25 per hour

We're looking for a skilled, compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced, caring team! This is a part-time position with Saturdays required.

We're passionate about providing excellent patient care, supporting one another, and making a difference for pets and their families. Exotic animal experience is a plus, but not required. We welcome candidates with strong veterinary skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and grow with our team.

Job Duties

• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, procedures, and patient care.

• Safely restrain and handle dogs, cats, and other animals.

• Obtain and record patient vital signs, weights, and medical histories.

• Collect and prepare laboratory samples, including blood and urine.

• Assist with diagnostic testing, vaccinations, and medication administration as directed.

• Prepare exam rooms, surgical areas, and equipment.

• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures as directed.

• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment areas.

• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients.

• Support the veterinary team with daily hospital operations.

• Must be able to lift 40lbs

What We're Looking For

• Previous veterinary assistant experience and solid clinical skills.

• Comfortable handling animals and working in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

• Reliable, adaptable, and able to multitask.

• A compassionate attitude toward patients, clients, and teammates.

• Availability to work Saturdays is required.

• Exotic animal experience is a plus, but not required.
