Part-Time Experienced Veterinary Assistant

Position Type: Part-Time- Some Saturdays shifts required. 
Experience Level: Experienced Veterinary Assistant
Practice: Busy, fast-paced veterinary practice with four doctors

Pay: $22-25 per hour

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and enthusiastic Veterinary Assistant to join our busy four-doctor practice. Our team works hard, supports one another, and takes pride in providing exceptional care to our clients and patients.

The ideal candidate is confident in a veterinary hospital setting, works well as part of a team, and is comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with exotic species is not required, but is a definite plus.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a veterinary assistant in a busy practice
• Strong animal-handling and patient-care skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Compassionate, professional approach with clients and patients
• Dependable, positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
• Exotic animal experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors and technicians with appointments and patient care
• Safely restrain and handle a variety of patients
• Prepare exam rooms and assist with treatments and procedures
• Obtain and record patient information and histories
• Provide compassionate care and monitoring of hospitalized patients
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the practice
• Communicate professionally with clients and team members
• Help keep the hospital running smoothly and efficiently
